Announcing Independent Opera Company’s New Season
We are very excited to announce our 2026-2027 season! This will be the company's 15th season, and we’re bringing you two spectacular fully staged productions.
We will start with the wonderful and spooky The Medium by G. C. Menotti. A medium who makes her living cheating the gullible, a mute boy, and an amazingly mature young woman full of wisdom and compassion – the clientele that wants to be deceived and the séance…what can go wrong? Find out on Friday November 6th and Saturday November 7th at 8 pm. St. Andrew's Lutheran Church Nolte Hall 11555 National Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90064. A bit past Halloween, but the mood is still there! Information about tickets is coming soon!
In Spring we will have our annual Gala Fundraiser! As usual, we will have delicious food, a great selection of wine, a silent auction, and wonderful performers to keep our supporters entertained! Stay tuned for the date and location.
We will conclude our 15th season with Eugene Onegin by Tchaikovsky. This beautiful, timeless Russian opera was IOC’s very first production back in 2012. Then we performed it again in 2018. Based on a poem by Pushkin, this opera tells a moving and complex story taking place in the first half of 19th century Russia, yet it is somehow relatable to many people around the globe. An innocent young maiden smitten by a cold disillusioned man, a naive poet who becomes the victim of a cruel joke, a taste of peasant and middle-class life, as well as High Society Russia, all set to the most amazing music! Performances will be held in the beautiful sanctuary of La Canada Congregational Church 1200 Foothill Blvd. La Canada Flintridge, CA 91011. Two performances only. Friday June 25th and Saturday 26th at 7:30 pm.
