Independent Opera Company continues it's fifth season with double bill Stabat Mater by Pergolesi/Orfeo ed Euridice by Gluck.

IOC will be performing a beautiful setting of Stabat Mater by Pergolesi. Stabat Mater is a 13th-century Catholic hymn to Mary, which portrays her suffering as Jesus Christ's mother during his crucifixion. The title comes from its first line, Stabat Mater dolorosa, which means "the sorrowful mother was standing".

Orfeo ed Euridice is based on a Greek myth which is a timeless tale that deals with death, loss, afterlife and the power of love and art and music to transform negative reality and overcome death.
